A TEXAN GOES TO NIRVANA
AUTHOR AND NARRATOR
"Wildly entertaining and laugh out loud"
"This is a crazy tale written and told by a gut-busting funny Texan, Kelly Jackson. The story itself is worthy but Jackson's narration brings it to life so we feel like we are there experiencing it all with her. The reading is dramatic and lively, but also comic and artistic. Ms. Jackson is a huge talent who does it all."
"Just finished listening to the audiobook! Even if this book was partially based on an actual experience it would be unbelievably funny. The whole concept had me laughing from the start. The storyline was funny and I guess told with tongue in cheek. Anyway .... it was a little crazy and I laughed a lot and I enjoyed listening to it."
"This book hit all the right buttons for me. It’s light, funny and could be easily adapted into a short film that would keep most audiences laughing.
What I liked most:
*Laugh out loud, witty, irreverent and satirical treatment of exploitation cults, ashrams, yoga teacher training, and creepy “yoga hoes.”
*Unapologetic distinction between yoga for health, exercise, and well-being; versus the rigorous accoutrements of yoga as a “religion.”
*Humorous, unexpected, and sometimes squeamish plot twists.

It was amazing!
What does an ashram, a thrice-divorced woman and the state of Texas have in common? It might be a little bit of a stretch to figure all of that out without reading A Texan Goes to Nirvana. Author Kelly Jackson writes a very witty and funny novel detailing the events of the life of Texan Wendy Tate as she tries to mix up her life a bit while attending an ashram. What starts as a self-help retreat evolves into much more and the witty writing made me giggle at parts. A quick and fun read and one that I would recommend to anyone needing a lift.

I just finished listening to A Texan Goes to Nirvana. Such a clever plot! I could see a movie based on it.
(From Kathy's mouth to God's EAR!!!)
A Texan going to a yoga retreat is an unusual treat. You enjoy the characters and the laugh out loud moments that come your way. You, don't even mind the occasional curse word. Okay...maybe there's a few more than required, but technically it worked for the scenes. The narrator/author did a terrific job.It had a lot of quirky characters and you rooted for Wendy to find her very own Nirvana. So when you get a chance pick up a copy and enjoy.

A Texan Goes to Nirvana: Hairy Arm...I mean Hari Ommmmm! is one hilarious book. I laughed so hard throughout listening to the audiobook. It was a major plus having the author Kelly Jackson narrating her own book. I was cracking up listening to her read the book the way she intended to be read.
I give A Texan Goes to Nirvana: Hairy Arm...I mean Hari Ommmmm! five stars. I recommend it for readers who love to read laugh out loud and quirky humor.

Authors don’t always make the best audio narrators—Stephen King comes to mind despite my devotion to his tales—but Kelly Jackson brings just the right tone to it. In fact, I’d say her vocalizations and comedic skills bring the story to life and I recommend everyone try the audio edition to have a really fun read.

End of the Road
Written by Karen Michelle Nutt
Narrated by Kelly Jackson
"If you ever want a book that really tugs on your heart strings this is it! End of the Road is the perfect mix of romance, mystery, and paranormal. I am so glad I gave this book a chance."
"Karen Michelle Nutt did an amazing job writing this magnificent story and Kelly Jackson delivered the story so well in her narration. I will most definitely have to listen to more books narrated by Kelly.
The emotional aspects in this book were so potent. I laughed and cried along with the characters. I even fell in love a time or two. The feels were totally in sync."

The Narration: I really enjoyed Kelly Jackson’s narration. She had the perfect voice for Cecilia, capturing her range of emotions in this tale. I also liked Jackson’s performance for Lars’s voice, especially when he’s exasperated or offended. Jackson had individual voices for all the characters and her male character voices were believable. The pacing was good and there were no technical issues with the recording. 5/5 stars.
I enjoyed getting the opportunity to listen to the audio version of The End of the Road. Kelly Jackson’s version did a great job bringing this book to life. What a perfect performance!

Kelly Jackson gives an outstanding performance. It's my first listen by her and she gives this story her all. There is a large cast of characters, and she gives each one their own voice and personality. I love that she could do young and old, drunk and sober, evil and ghostly. A little of everything made this performer shine.
